Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament, Dinner theater in Dallas, United States

Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament is a dinner theater in Dallas, Texas, set inside a building designed to look like a castle. Guests sit in a large arena divided into colored sections and watch a live show featuring knights on horseback, jousting, sword fighting, and falconry while eating a meal served without utensils.

The Medieval Times concept was born in Spain in the 1970s and later brought to the United States. The chain grew to open several locations across North America, with Dallas becoming one of its established venues.

Guests receive a colored crown at the entrance that determines which knight they will cheer for during the show. Before the tournament begins, the Hall of Arms displays suits of armor and banners that visitors can explore at their own pace.

The castle gates open about an hour before the show, giving visitors time to explore the Hall of Arms, see the horses and falcons, and browse the gift shop. Outside food, drinks, cakes, balloons, or weapons are not allowed inside.

A real drawbridge leads to the entrance, and the moat below is home to live turtles and koi fish that visitors can spot as they walk in. The meal is intentionally served without utensils, which is part of the concept and not an oversight.
