Sanctuaire Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire de Nueva Pompeya, Catholic shrine in Nueva Pompeya, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The Santuario Nuestra Señora del Rosario de Nueva Pompeya is a shrine built in Gothic Revival style, recognizable by its single clock tower and stained glass windows imported from Munich. The interior and exterior combine traditional religious architecture with European craftsmanship and decorative detail.

Italian priest Dario Broggi founded the first chapel on this site in 1895, which was formally blessed by Archbishop Uladislao Castellano shortly after. The sanctuary developed from this religious beginning into the larger structure that stands today.

The shrine's name reflects the strong Italian community that shaped this neighborhood and their devotional traditions. Visitors have left personal prayers and expressions of gratitude on these grounds for over a century, making it a place where people share their most intimate wishes.

The shrine draws larger crowds during special celebrations on May 8th and the first Sundays of October, when religious events take place. Visiting on other days allows for a quieter experience to observe the architecture and interior details.

An extended cloister area opened in 1928 replicates the design of medieval monastic buildings and is surrounded by growing vegetation and climbing plants. This quiet, secluded section offers visitors a different experience from the main sanctuary and creates a reflective atmosphere.
