Essl Museum, Art museum in Klosterneuburg, Austria.
The museum building forms a right-angled triangle layout with its hypotenuse running parallel to the railway track facing Klosterneuburg Monastery.
The museum operated from 1999 to 2016, housing the Essl collection assembled by Agnes and Karlheinz Essl alongside their company Schömer and Baumax.
The collection contains over 7000 works of contemporary art from Austria, Europe, USA, Australia, India, Mexico, and China displayed across 4500 square meters.
The renovated building reopened as Albertina Klosterneuburg in April 2024, presenting three exhibitions from 1945 to present day, operating Thursday through Sunday.
The museum received the Austrian Building Owners Award in 2000 for its architectural design by Heinz Tesar, featuring a central art depot.
