Camping et Chalet du Lac d'Aydat, Lakeside campground in Aydat, France
Camping et Chalet du Lac d'Aydat is a 7-hectare facility on the lake's shore with 165 camping plots and furnished chalets for different travel styles. The grounds feature heated swimming pools, playgrounds, and a mini-golf course for on-site recreation.
The campground was established in the 1960s during a period of regional tourism development in Auvergne. It was built next to the area's largest natural lake, which had already begun attracting visitors to the region.
The campground serves as a gathering place where visitors and locals come together for swimming and leisure activities, with regular evening programs reflecting the region's traditions. During summer months, guests can experience music and dances from the Auvergne through organized gatherings.
The facility operates from April through November with reception open from 1 pm to 5 pm during business hours. It is best to confirm exact opening times in advance since hours may vary depending on the season.
The lake itself has three separate swimming zones with certified lifeguards on duty, allowing visitors to swim safely in designated areas. This division creates different sections suited to various activities and skill levels.
