This campground was developed during the 1970s as the region worked to build tourism infrastructure in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques. It was created to serve visitors exploring the mountain landscape.
The site sits within an area where shepherding remains part of daily life in the high Pyrenees. Visitors can observe how mountain communities work and move through these landscapes.
The facility is open from June to October and offers electrical hookups along with sanitary buildings equipped with hot water. Accommodations for recreational vehicles are available, and services are spread across the grounds for convenient access.
Three separate sanitation buildings are distributed across the grounds, ensuring campers have short walking distances from any pitch. This layout means no one needs to trek far to reach facilities.
