Camping Mar Estang, Beachfront campground in Canet-en-Roussillon, France
Camping Mar Estang stretches across 14 hectares of land between the Mediterranean Sea and the Saint-Nazaire lagoon. It offers 600 pitches and mobile homes for guests.
The site was founded in the 1960s as part of the development of coastal tourism infrastructure in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. It emerged during a wave of campground construction along the French Mediterranean coast.
The site works with local winemakers, allowing visitors to taste regional wines and visit nearby vineyards through organized programs.
The campground opens from April through November and provides direct beach access. Three swimming pools, water slides, and organized activities for all ages are available throughout the season.
The site sits where three distinct landscapes meet: the Mediterranean Sea, the Saint-Nazaire nature reserve, and views of Mount Canigou. This unusual location lets visitors experience multiple ecosystems from one base.
