Le Garanel, Riverside campground in Sommières, France
Le Garanel is a campground situated along the Vidourle River with 57 pitches on natural ground for tents and caravans. The site covers about one hectare and provides washing machines, electrical hookups, hot showers, and a swimming pool.
The site lies near the medieval town of Sommières, which grew around a Roman bridge that still stands today. A fortress built in the 13th century shaped the town and remains visible overlooking the river.
The location sits within reach of regional villages where traditional markets and local festivals happen regularly throughout the year. Visitors can experience how people in the area live their daily lives and see how the community carries on its customs.
The campground operates from April through October and provides various facilities on the grounds. It is practical to bring either a tent or caravan, as both can be well accommodated, and swimming in the pool makes a stay more enjoyable during warm weather.
Three safari lodge tents are available on the grounds, offering accommodation without needing to set up your own tent. Fishing and water activities are possible from here since the site has direct access to the river.
