Phönix-Bad, Water park and sauna complex in Ottobrunn, Germany
Phönix-Bad is a leisure and sauna facility in Ottobrunn with nine distinct pools covering roughly 1,350 square meters of water surface, including sports pools, family zones, and children's areas. The complex comprises multiple halls with different purposes and water attractions for various activities.
The oldest section of the facility dates from the 1990s and will undergo major renovation beginning in April 2025. The northern sauna area beneath the glass dome is the main focus of this modernization project.
The sauna area reflects German bathing customs with diverse thermal zones and family-friendly times when younger children can join adults. People come here to experience the ritual of moving between hot and cold water in a social setting.
The facility is open from around 7:30 AM to 10:30 PM Wednesday through Monday, with earlier opening at 6:30 AM on Tuesdays. Visitors should note that currently only cash payments are accepted.
The outdoor sauna garden features multiple thermal pools and Kneipp water therapy zones spread across a spacious open area. This allows visitors to alternate between indoor and outdoor spaces while experiencing different water temperatures.
