Хинкали хаус, Georgian restaurant in Yaroslavl, Russia
Khinkali House is a Georgian eatery located near the center of Yaroslavl. The room has wood-toned tables, soft lighting, and a simple layout where the cooking area is partly visible from the seating space.
The restaurant appeared after a wave of interest in Caucasian cooking reached the city, adapting old Georgian recipes to a local audience. Over time, it became one of the small dining spots that shaped the area around Sobinoff Street.
Diners often eat the dumplings with their hands, holding the top knot and taking a small bite to drink the broth before finishing the filling. Tables are shared generously, and people linger over tea or a glass of wine after the meal.
It is easier to find a table if you arrive before the main evening rush or call ahead. The narrow entrance makes it better to leave large bags or strollers by the door.
The dough knots at the top of the khinkali are not meant to be eaten and are left on the plate to show how many each person has taken. Some guests also notice that the staff can quietly arrange a small surprise for a proposal or a birthday.
