Maison Gioia, Restaurant in Musicians Quarter, Nice, France
Maison Joia is a restaurant in the Musicians Quarter of Nice, set inside a former grocery store that has been renovated. The space keeps its large windows and art deco details, which fill the dining room with natural light throughout the day.
Julien and Laetitia Pilati opened the restaurant in October 2023, turning a former specialty food store into their own project. They brought their cooking experience from Brittany and Champagne to the Côte d'Azur.
The menu at Maison Joia changes with the seasons, and each dish reflects the region where its main ingredient comes from. Guests who pay attention will notice how the food connects the south of France to other parts of the country.
The restaurant is open from mid-morning on weekdays and stays open into the evening on Saturdays, so it works for lunch or dinner. Reserving a table through the website in advance is a good idea, as the space is not very large.
Although the restaurant is on the Côte d'Azur, many of its ingredients come from distant French regions, including fish sourced directly from Breton fisheries. This direct link to producers means the menu changes regularly depending on what is available and in season.
