Théâtre National de Nice, National theatre in Nice, France.
The Théâtre National de Nice occupies multiple venues across the city, featuring modern stage technology and wheelchair-accessible facilities that accommodate various theatrical productions throughout the year.
Established in 1969 as Centre National Nice-Côte d'Azur, the theatre began with Edward Bond's 'The Narrow Road to the Deep North' and gained national dramatic center status in 1974.
Under Muriel Mayette-Holtz's direction since 2019, the theatre presents 34 annual productions from September to May, ranging from classical works like Racine's Phèdre to contemporary creations.
The theatre operates Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, offers subscriptions and individual tickets with special rates for students and groups, and provides online booking services.
The original marble-clad building from 1989 was demolished in 2022 to extend the Promenade du Paillon, relocating operations to temporary venues in Vieux-Nice.
