Ten Putte Abbey

Ten Putte Abbey features functional stone buildings surrounded by gardens where the religious community Mère de la Paix resides since 2007.

The monastery was established in the 11th century at the site where Saint Godelieve was murdered in 1070 by her husband's servants.

The site includes a museum dedicated to Saint Godelieve, displaying religious artifacts and documenting the history of medieval religious life in Flanders.

Visitors can explore the abbey grounds daily from sunrise to sunset, while the museum maintains regular opening hours between April and September.

The abbey contains a well where, according to records, Edith, the blind daughter of Godelieve's husband, regained her sight using its waters.
