Cascada La Mina, Natural waterfall in El Yunque National Forest, Puerto Rico.

The 35-foot waterfall cascades down rock formations into a natural swimming pool, surrounded by dense tropical vegetation and native plants.

The waterfall zone contains remnants of the original Taino settlements who inhabited El Yunque forest before Spanish colonization in the 16th century.

Local residents gather at La Mina Falls during summer festivities to celebrate traditional Puerto Rican customs through music and swimming activities.

The waterfall requires a moderate 0.7-mile hike on a maintained trail from the parking area, with steps and handrails along steeper sections.

The pool beneath La Mina Falls maintains a constant temperature throughout the year due to underground thermal springs feeding into the water system.
