Veterans Ampitheater

Veterans Amphitheater is an outdoor music venue in Virginia Beach with covered seating sections and a large lawn area where concerts across different genres take place. The facility sits within the centrally located city park and features two entrance gates leading to the different audience sections, with the Lake Plaza area reserved for elevated seating.

The venue opened in 1996 with a performance by Bruce Hornsby, marking the start of the era for large outdoor music events in Hampton Roads. Over the following decades, the facility grew into an important stop for national touring acts along the mid-Atlantic coast.

The name honors military members and veterans from the region, reflecting the strong presence of naval bases around Hampton Roads. On summer evenings, visitors from across the metro area gather here for open-air concerts in casual dress, often bringing picnic blankets and lawn chairs.

All transactions run on a cashless system, so visitors should bring a card or mobile payment method. Tickets scan from mobile devices, and parking comes included with admission, making arrival straightforward.
