The Medeu stadium covers 10,500 square meters of ice surface at an elevation of 1,691 meters in the Tian Shan mountains.
Opening in February 1951, the stadium received its name from Medeu Pusurmanov, who first established winter settlements in this mountain region.
The stadium represents a central element of winter sports development in Kazakhstan, forming generations of national skating athletes since the 1950s.
The complex includes rental services, changing rooms, equipment shops, dining facilities, and direct transport connections from central Almaty.
Athletes established more than 200 world records on this ice rink, benefiting from specific atmospheric conditions at high altitude.
