Playa de Bocabarranco

Playa de Bocabarranco Nord is a roughly 260-meter-long beach with dark sand and natural rock formations along Gran Canaria's northern coast. The rocky outcrops create distinct coves and sections that shape how the beach functions.

The beach sits in an area with archaeological traces of the Guanches, the original inhabitants of Gran Canaria before Spanish colonization. Artifacts found in the rock formations testify to their long settlement of this coastal area.

Local fishermen still use the rocky coves for their traditional work and shape the character of this coastal stretch. This craft remains a living part of the area's identity.

The beach has basic facilities like showers and restrooms on site. For additional services like restaurants or shops, the nearby town of Gáldar is worth a short visit.

The rock cliffs surrounding the beach create protected swimming areas where you can observe the variety of marine life. These natural coves are often overlooked despite offering the most interesting swimming.
