Plage de Montrichard

Plage de Montrichard is a river beach that spreads along the Cher banks with sandy and pebbly sections, bordered by trees and open green spaces. It features a restaurant, volleyball courts, and rental services for canoes and boats.

The beach emerged as a leisure destination following the construction of nearby Château de Montrichard during the medieval period. Over time it grew into a popular resort area, reflecting how river valleys became important spots for recreation in the Loire region.

Swimming is supervised during July and August, making these the best months for swimmers. Parking is available near the beach, and you can reach it easily on foot or by bicycle.

A free barge service called Le Trait d'union connects the town center directly to the beach and carries visitors and their bicycles across the river. This handy link allows travelers to leave their cars downtown and reach the waterside without extra effort.
