Plage de Tallone, Mediterranean beach in Aléria, France

Plage de Tallone is a sandy beach on the Mediterranean coast of Aléria, Corsica, with fine sand and clear waters. The shoreline extends across a significant length, dotted with natural sand dunes that create multiple access points for swimmers and sunbathers.

This beach occupies the territory of the ancient Roman settlement of Aléria, which functioned as a major maritime port during Rome's occupation of Corsica. The Roman presence shaped the region for centuries and left lasting marks on the local landscape.

Local fishermen maintain traditional fishing methods along the coastline, supplying fresh catches to the restaurants and markets of Aléria.

The beach is easily reached from National Route 198, with a large parking area for visitors and clear pathways leading through the dunes. A few facilities are scattered along the shore, and the sandy terrain makes walking comfortable in summer months.

Underwater Posidonia seagrass meadows lie just offshore and naturally protect the beach from erosion. These submerged plant beds attract marine researchers who study their ecological role in the coastal system.
