Handi plage

Handi plage is a beach along the Mediterranean coast near Antibes that is specially equipped for people with mobility restrictions. It features ramps, accessible changing rooms with elevators, and showers to make reaching the water as simple as possible.

The facility opened in 2019 as a regional effort to create more inclusive coastal spaces throughout the French Riviera. Since then, it has become a model for similar projects in other French beach towns.

Visitors can use special beach wheelchairs called TIRALO to move across the sand and enter the water under supervision. These wheelchairs are wider and have large wheels to move easily on uneven ground.
