Plage du Port d'Alon, Shingle beach in Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer, France
Plage du Port d'Alon is a shingle beach on the Mediterranean coast with a mixture of pebbles and fine sand. Steep cliffs and maritime pines frame the shoreline, creating a natural setting that feels removed from crowded areas.
The beach was shaped over thousands of years through natural erosion and sediment deposition. These geological forces created the distinctive inlet structure that marks the coastline today.
The beach forms part of the protected Parc National des Calanques, representing traditional Mediterranean coastal landscapes and marine ecosystems.
Access is provided through two parking areas with several hundred spaces total; the upper area is more affordable than the lower. Wear comfortable shoes since the beach is pebbly and the surrounding paths can be uneven.
A coastal path of about 6 kilometers connects this beach to several other hidden coves in the area. One section of this route leads to Engraviers Beach, where naturism is an established practice.
