Plage municipale

Plage municipale is a sandy beach stretching along the southern shore of Lake Annecy, offering a swimming area with views of Alpine mountains. The waterfront has a gentle slope and wide sandy zone suitable for sunbathing and water activities.

The beach developed through natural sediment deposits from mountain streams that flowed into Lake Annecy over many centuries. These accumulated materials gradually shaped the sandy shoreline visible today.

Local residents gather at this beach during summer evenings for community events, featuring regional food specialties and traditional Alpine music.

The beach is easily accessible and equipped with changing rooms and shower facilities for visitors. A visit is most pleasant during warm months when water temperature is most suitable for swimming.

The water remains noticeably cool year-round because underground springs from the mountains feed directly into the lake. This feature keeps the water refreshingly chilly even during warm summer days.
