Psarochoma

Psarochoma is a sandy beach on the eastern coast of Skiathos island, situated in a secluded cove surrounded by high hills and rock formations. The shoreline extends along this sheltered water and offers very few built structures or facilities.

This location lay near ancient shipping routes that connected the Sporades islands during the Classical Greek era and linked them to other Mediterranean settlements. These connections shaped the island region's past.

Fishermen in the area use traditional methods to catch fish that ends up in local tavernas nearby. This daily work shapes life at this location and keeps the island connected to old practices.

The beach has no facilities, so visitors should bring everything they need with them. Getting there is mainly done through water taxis from Skiathos Town harbor.

Water depth increases sharply moving away from the shore, creating clearly visible zones in different shades of blue. These color shifts become more pronounced as the sun changes position throughout the day.
