Praia do Garajau

The Garajau Partial Natural Reserve was established in 1986 to safeguard marine biodiversity and create a protected environment for numerous aquatic species.

The beach complex includes restaurants serving regional Madeiran dishes, reflecting the island's maritime traditions through fresh seafood preparations.

Access to the beach involves either taking a cable car ride or walking down a long road, with facilities including showers, changing rooms, and a first-aid station.

The underwater reserve prohibits fishing activities, creating a natural sanctuary where visitors can observe large marine species like dusky groupers and manta rays.
