The neighboring fishing village of Cova do Vapor maintains traditional maritime practices, with local fishermen launching their boats directly from the beach.

The beach provides monitored swimming areas with lifeguards from June through September, operating daily between 9:00 and 22:00 with paid parking facilities.

A 225-meter pier divides the beach into two distinct sections, offering extended views across the Atlantic Ocean and the Tagus River mouth.
