The Azenhas d'El Rei River Beach extends for 148 meters along the shores of Alqueva Reservoir with clear waters and sandy areas for water activities.
Following its inauguration in June 2022, the beach received Blue Flag certification, marking a new phase in regional recreational development for Alandroal municipality.
The beach location near the Spanish border creates a meeting point between Portuguese and Spanish visitors, fostering connections through shared recreational activities.
From June to September, visitors can access facilities including a restaurant, boat ramps, bathrooms, showers, and designated parking areas for buses and campervans.
The beach forms part of Europe's largest artificial lake network, offering supervised swimming areas and specialized infrastructure for water sports enthusiasts.
