Praia da Bestarruza

Praia da Bestarruza is a sandy beach along the Ferrol estuary with fine golden sand and pine trees lining the shore. The water is clear and the beach offers a calm setting for swimming and relaxation.

The beach was part of an observation network during the construction of fortifications like San Felipe castle in the 16th century. These structures were built to control and defend access to the estuary.

Local fishermen still maintain traditional fishing practices near the beach, setting nets during specific tide cycles throughout the year.

The beach has showers, toilets, waste bins, and cleaning services for daily use. Parking is available within walking distance of the shore.

From the shoreline, two opposing castles are visible: Palma and San Felipe frame the estuary entrance. These fortifications create a visual gateway to the sea.
