Cala del Francés

Cala del Francés is a small cove on the northeastern coast of Xàbia with a pebble beach and clear Mediterranean waters framed by rocky cliffs and pine forests. The beach stretches about 50 meters and provides a quiet retreat away from busier bathing spots.

The name comes from a Swiss family who built a residence near the cove in the early 20th century and were known among artistic circles. The family helped introduce this coastal area to European artistic networks of that period.

The Lambert family, including renowned artist André Lambert, introduced this section of Xàbia to European artistic circles through their illustrations and architectural work.

The cove can be reached via a short walking path from Cala Blanca, taking about 15 to 20 minutes. Parking is available in nearby streets, and it is advisable to arrive early since space is quite limited.

Although the cove sits on private land, the public maintains access rights and can freely use the beach. This unusual arrangement has helped preserve the area's natural surroundings and prevented excessive development.
