The beach area developed after the 1872 settlement of Otsego Lake Village, which grew through lumber industry activities in the region.
The beach serves as a central gathering point for community events and summer celebrations, connecting residents through shared outdoor experiences.
Visitors can access Main Beach daily from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with recreational facilities including designated swimming zones and picnic areas.
The surrounding landscape features preserved areas of the former lumber territory, where timber baron David Ward first established operations in 1851.
