Grajek i Meloman

Grajek i Meloman is a bronze dwarf statue located in Wroclaw's old town depicting a fiddler and a music lover in miniature form. The figures stand at the intersection of Oławska street and are set among the pedestrian shops and restaurants that fill this central district.

The bronze figure was installed in March 2007 as part of a collection that originated in the 1980s during anti-communist movements. The project has since grown into a widespread network of over 300 dwarf sculptures distributed across Wroclaw's streets.

The two figures represent street musicians and reflect the city's living tradition of spontaneous performances in public spaces. These bronze characters capture everyday moments that visitors can still witness today in Wroclaw's old town.

The statue is easy to find on foot since it stands at a busy intersection in the heart of the old town surrounded by shops and cafes. Visitors should take time to explore the surrounding streets to spot other similar figures scattered throughout the area.

The statue was created by artist Beata Zwolańska-Hołod and captures movement and expression that sets it apart from many other installations throughout the city. These figures are so small they can easily be missed if you are not actively looking for them.
