Solidarek, Bronze dwarf statue in Szczepin, Poland
Solidarek stands 30 centimeters tall among hundreds of other dwarf sculptures scattered throughout the streets of Wrocław, representing different characters and professions.
The statue was installed on June 4, 2008, as part of a citywide initiative commemorating the Orange Alternative movement that opposed communist rule in Poland.
The bronze figure contributes to Wrocław's collection of over 300 dwarf statues that transform the urban space into an open-air gallery of miniature art.
Visitors can find Solidarek near the Hansel & Gretel houses in the Szczepin district, using the official dwarf map available at tourist information centers.
Each dwarf statue in Wrocław, including Solidarek, receives winter protection through special clothing placed on the bronze figures during cold months.
