Cupruś

Cupruś is a small bronze sculpture located in the Szczepin district, part of a large collection of dwarf statues scattered throughout Wrocław. The figure stands at ground level, appearing like a small inhabitant of the street itself.

This figure was installed in 2019, continuing a tradition that began in 2001 with the first dwarf statue honoring a historical political movement. The original impulse came from artistic actions against a repressive regime.

This sculpture represents the growing collection of public art pieces that reflect local traditions and the transformation of political resistance into artistic expression.

This sculpture is located in public space and remains accessible at any time without opening hours or special conditions. Visitors can pick up maps at tourist information centers throughout the city to find all the figures scattered around.

Each dwarf in the city was created by different artists and carries its own personality and story. Visitors often enjoy hunting the collection and discovering the different characters and their hidden meanings.
