Krasnal Gazuś is a bronze dwarf statue among over 800 similar figures scattered throughout Wrocław, marking corners and building facades. The sculpture sits as part of a citywide collection that decorates the streets with small artistic elements created by local craftspeople.
History
The tradition of dwarf statues in Wrocław began in 2005 with the first official installation, marking a new artistic direction for the city. Gazuś joined the collection in 2009, becoming part of a growing urban art movement that continues to expand today.
Culture
This dwarf relates to the Orange Alternative movement of the 1980s, when protesters used such imagery to resist communist rule through art and street symbols. The figure carries this memory of defiance that visitors can still sense walking through the old town.

The statue is located in the old town quarter and can be found using maps available at local tourist information centers throughout the city center. It helps to plan time for a walk around the area to discover several of these figures and experience the project as a whole.
