Trisomek, Dwarf statue in Stare Miasto, Poland
Trisomek is a small bronze figure standing in the streets of Wrocław's historic district. The work belongs to a collection of over 800 similar sculptures placed at knee height throughout the entire city center.
The figure was installed on March 21, 2014, as part of a project honoring the Orange Alternative, an artistic movement against communist rule. The project transformed the city's streets through miniature art and created a new landmark.
The figure belongs to a collection of bronze dwarfs that represent different aspects of city life. These dwarfs are part of Wrocław's visual identity and show professions, hobbies, and social themes.
Visitors can find Trisomek and other dwarfs using specialized maps available at tourist information centers or through mobile apps. A walk through the old city with attention to ground-level details makes discovering them part of the experience.
The art project emerged from an unconventional protest culture that filled walls with drawings to resist censorship. This playful form of dwarf art preserves that rebellious history and makes it a visible part of the city landscape.
