Prufek

Prufek is a small bronze figure in Wrocław standing 20 to 30 centimeters tall and part of a large collection of dwarf statues scattered throughout the city. The sculpture displays individual details that make it recognizable among hundreds of similar figures placed in public spaces.

The first dwarf statue was created in 2005 by an artist, marking the beginning of this sculptural tradition in the city. Prufek was installed in 2017 as part of this growing movement that continues to expand.

This statue is part of a collection rooted in an art movement against communist rule that now shapes how locals experience their city. People recognize it as a symbol of creative resistance and artistic expression throughout Wrocław.
