Rocade Verte - Trouée Verte, Recreational trail network in Bourges, France.
The Rocade Verte is a trail network that connects several neighborhoods of Bourges through green corridors and natural areas. The system includes sections around Lake Auron and offers maintained paths with rest areas and information panels at various points.
The first phase of the green belt opened in 2004, marking the start of a major connection project for the city. Between 2011 and 2013, significant expansions took place that completed the network and created the system we see today.
For local residents, this network has become a place for walks, jogging, and outdoor gatherings throughout the week. Families use the paths regularly to spend time in nature and discover their city from a different perspective.
The paths are well marked and divided into different sections that you can choose based on your time and interest. Visitors should note that the condition and width of the paths vary, so sturdy footwear and an offline map are helpful.
The network directly connects Lake Auron with the historic old town, making it easy to move quickly between the city center and nature. Bicycle stations at several junction points allow visitors to switch between different forms of transport.
