Cognac Guillon-Painturaud, Winery and escape room in Segonzac, France
Cognac Guillon-Painturaud is a 19-hectare estate in the Grande Champagne region producing Pineau des Charentes and Cognac through traditional distillation of estate-grown grapes. The property features guided tastings as well as an escape room adventure set within the grape pickers quarters.
The family estate has been independently operated for three generations, specializing in Grande Champagne Cognac, which holds the highest classification status. This continuity through the decades has established the property as a guardian of traditional production methods.
The escape room takes visitors back to 1937, where they uncover the secret Cognac recipe created by Joseph, the Cellar Master, following the challenges of the phylloxera outbreak.
The estate welcomes visitors Monday through Saturday from 14:00 to 18:00 for guided tours, tastings, and escape room sessions available in English or French. Book ahead and wear comfortable clothing, as the cellar spaces remain cool year-round.
The escape room adventure unfolds within the original quarters where harvest workers once lived, revealing how workers were housed during grape picking season. This authentic setting adds an extra layer of immersion since the spaces retain their historical layout.
