Camping La Fundicion, Campground in Sierra Norte Natural Park, Spain
Camping La Fundicion is a campground with around 30 equipped plots in the Huéznar River valley, all with electricity and water connections for different types of accommodation. The site spreads over a broad area and offers camping spots alongside a restaurant in a converted historic building, plus modern bathroom facilities.
The site was originally home to a metal foundry from the 15th century, which eventually closed and left the location. Over time, the old factory building was renovated and repurposed, laying the foundation for the camping area that exists today.
The site takes its name from an old metal foundry, and this heritage remains visible today in the building designs and structures throughout the grounds. Visitors notice this industrial past as they walk around, spotting old stone walls and crafted details that reflect the location's former purpose.
The site is about a kilometer from Cazalla-Constantina train station and thus relatively close to transport connections if you arrive by train. The grounds operate daily from morning hours, and facilities are open year-round, with the best visiting season being the warmer months.
The site has direct access to the Via Verde hiking trail network, a converted railway line now open to walkers and cyclists. From here, visitors can immediately venture into extended hiking paths in the mountains without having to cross a main road first.
