Huerta Romero, Seaside campground in Castell de Ferro, Spain
Huerta Romero is a seaside campground near Castell de Ferro along the Costa Tropical, covering about one hectare with space for around 45 caravans, motorhomes, and tents. The pitches range from smaller to larger sizes, some with bungalows available, and the entire location sits just a few meters above sea level.
The site was founded in 1986 when local resident Conchita opened this camping facility to offer lodging along the Costa Tropical. Since then, it has been an established destination for visitors exploring this coastal area.
The campground features a small botanical garden displaying Mediterranean plant species that grow naturally in this coastal area. Walking through it, you see olive trees, palms, and other vegetation suited to the southern climate.
Visitors can choose between marked pitches for tents, spaces for caravans and motorhomes, or furnished bungalows, and the entire site has internet access throughout. It makes sense to check upon arrival which option fits your plans, as each offers different advantages.
The campground sits between the Mediterranean Sea and the Alpujarras mountains, offering direct access to coastal activities and mountain trails year-round. This proximity to two very different landscapes makes it easy to shift between seaside and mountains in a short amount of time.
