Playa de la Charca/Salomar, Mediterranean beach in Salobreña, Spain

Playa de la Charca, also called del Salomar, is a beach in the municipality of Salobreña, Granada Province, Andalusia. It runs for about 1,800 metres along the Mediterranean with an average width of 64 metres. Behind the wide sand is a seafront promenade lined with apartment blocks and tourist buildings.

The beach lies in Salobreña, a municipality whose old town sits on a hill crowned by a Moorish castle above the modern seafront. The present beachfront, with its promenade and the tourist apartment blocks behind it, belongs to the town's later growth as a coastal resort in Granada Province.

The beach's double name, La Charca and Salomar, is the most visible local usage: both appear on signage and in everyday speech in Salobreña.
