Torre del Diablo, Coastal watchtower in Almuñécar, Spain
The Torre del Diablo exhibits a conical structure with a circular base of 8.45 meters in diameter and reaches a height of 10.50 meters above ground level.
Built in 1766 as a replacement for the medieval Torre de Enmedio, this fortification served as a strategic observation point along the Spanish Mediterranean coastline.
The tower received recognition as a Bien de Interés Cultural in 1986, marking its status as a protected monument within Spain's architectural heritage.
Visitors can reach the tower via the N-340 highway between Almuñécar and Salobreña, with parking available near the flat walking path to the structure.
The interior features four precisely positioned embrasures aligned with cardinal points, allowing guards to maintain surveillance over both land and sea approaches.
