Gaivota

Gaivota is a beachfront campground in San Pedro de Benquerencia that spreads across a wooded area with planted hedges and natural vegetation. An eight-kilometer coastal path connects the site to surrounding landscapes and provides direct access to natural rock formations along the shore.

The campground was designed by painter Celso Dourado, who incorporated natural materials such as wood, glass, and stone into its architecture. His design approach respected the surrounding landscape and worked with local environmental elements.

The campground sits on the Northern Way of Saint James, serving as a stopping point for pilgrims crossing through the Rias Altas region. Many travelers use this location to rest during their spiritual journey.

The site is accessible daily and provides basic amenities including hot water, WiFi, and an on-site grocery store for visitors. Laundry services are also available if you plan to stay longer.

The campground sits very close to Playa de las Catedrales, known for its striking natural rock formations that resemble cathedral-like structures. This proximity makes it an excellent base for exploring the distinctive coastal geology of the area.
