Hopfengarten, Beer garden in Sendling-Westpark, Germany.
Hopfengarten is a beer garden with around 1500 seats in an open area next to the Audi Dome. Shade comes from young chestnut trees and large umbrellas positioned throughout the space.
It was founded in 1983 during the International Garden Exhibition. It was created as part of the larger Westpark development project that reshaped this area of Munich.
Daily Bavarian dishes like grilled fish, ribs, and roasted pork knuckle are prepared fresh on site. These traditional foods connect visitors to how people in this region have eaten for generations.
The venue operates on a self-service basis, so guests fetch their own drinks and food. The open layout makes it easy to navigate and find seating throughout the area.
On Saturdays the space transforms into a flea market with vendor stands. Visitors can rent a spot to sell their goods and the garden becomes a trading ground.
