View to Myrtos Bay is a scenic viewpoint on a hillside in the Δημοτική Ενότητα Πυλαρέων on the island of Kefalonia, looking down over the curved shoreline and the bay below. The spot sits just off the main road, with the surrounding land mostly rocky and covered in low shrubs.
Myrtos Bay has been part of Kefalonia's coastal landscape for centuries, used by local fishermen as a reference point along the west coast. In the 20th century, the bay gained wider recognition when scenes from the film Captain Corelli's Mandolin were shot on its shore and surrounding cliffs.
Myrtos Bay is known on Kefalonia for its white pebble shore and blue-green water, and this viewpoint is where most visitors come to take in its shape from above. Looking down, you can see how the cliffs curve around the water, giving a sense of the bay that you simply cannot get from the beach itself.
