Mirador de Sarrià, Scenic viewpoint in Barcelona, Spain
Mirador de Sarrià is a scenic viewpoint in Barcelona, Spain. It consists of a small open terrace at an elevation of about 820 feet (250 meters) on the road from Sarrià to Vallvidrera, offering views over the western part of the city and the Collserola mountain range.
The viewpoint was set up in 1992, when the area was arranged as a lookout point. In 2024, the city approved funds to renovate it, showing that it remains a valued spot for both locals and visitors.
The name Sarrià refers to the old village that became part of Barcelona, and the viewpoint is a local spot where people come to take in the view and enjoy a break. On clear days, you can see how the city stretches out below, with the neighborhood of Sarrià closest and the sea in the distance.
You can reach the viewpoint on foot, by bicycle, or by funicular, and the climb itself is part of the experience. Once there, the terrace is open and easy to explore, but keep in mind that the area is exposed to the weather, so bring sun protection or a jacket depending on the day.
The viewpoint sits right at the entrance to Collserola Natural Park, so it serves as a gateway to many trails. Also, the Collserola communications tower stands out as a reference point, and its modern silhouette contrasts with the natural surroundings.
