Weehawken Water Tower, Historic water tower in Weehawken, New Jersey, United States.
The Weehawken Water Tower is a Neo-Romanesque structure built in 1883 featuring rounded arches, robust masonry walls, and a restored slate roof with copper elements.
Constructed by the Hackensack Water Company in the late 19th century, this tower supplied water pressure to the growing community but soon became obsolete due to advances in pumping technology.
The tower appears in numerous historic postcards and photographs from the 1880s onward, documenting the development of Weehawken and its surrounding neighborhoods over more than a century.
Located at 4050 Park Avenue in Weehawken, the tower underwent restoration by HMR Architects and now includes accessible features such as a public staircase, gallery lighting, and compliant facilities.
A panoramic photograph taken from the tower's top in 1909 provided a full 360-degree view of the New York City west side and the surrounding region from this elevated vantage point.
