Isla Pasión
Isla Pasión is a small uninhabited rocky islet off the harbor coastline of Lázaro Cárdenas in Mexico, marked by natural vegetation and rugged stone formations. The shoreline shows uneven surfaces with rock outcrops and scattered coves where seawater laps against the stones.
The islet has served for generations as a natural barrier protecting the harbor from strong waves and storms. Local fishermen have known it for a long time and use its waters as a reference point during their trips.
The boat trip from the port takes just a few minutes and is pleasant in calm weather. Those wanting to explore the rocks should bring sturdy footwear and pack enough water and sun protection, as the islet has no facilities.
Seabirds such as gulls regularly land on the rocks and use the islet as a resting spot between their flights across the ocean. On calm days, you can see sea turtles and jumping fish in the waters around it.
