Skigebiet Turracher Höhe
Turracher Höhe is a ski resort in Reichenau near the border of Carinthia and Styria with gentle slopes and wide pistes for all skill levels. The resort has 16 lift systems, around 43 kilometers (27 miles) of ski runs, and 36 slopes, most of which suit beginners and intermediate skiers.
The ski area has a long history as a popular winter sports destination and has been developed continuously for many decades. Its lift systems and slopes have been modernized over time to provide visitors with an improved experience.
The name comes from the high elevation above 6500 feet (2000 m) that defines the ski area's character and identity. Mountain restaurants and huts here reflect local traditions, where visitors enjoy hearty regional dishes after skiing and chat with local people.
The area is accessible by car via the B95 road, about one hour from Klagenfurt or less than half an hour from Tamsweg and Murau. Parking is available near the lift stations, and several restaurants, ski schools, and rental shops are located at the base of the slopes.
A special feature is the Nocky Flitzer, a downhill bobsled-style ride with curves and dips on a 2.5-kilometer (1.6-mile) track that attracts families and visitors of all ages. This attraction offers a fast and fun alternative to traditional skiing.
