R. López de Heredia Viña Tondonia is a winery in Haro, in the Rioja region of Spain, housed in a traditional building from 1877. The estate includes historic cellars with American oak barrels where wines age for years, vineyards near the Ebro river, and a shop designed by architect Zaha Hadid.

The winery was founded in 1877 by Rafael López de Heredia y Landeta, a winemaker drawn to the Haro region. It is the oldest winery in Haro and one of the first three wine houses in Rioja, established when French merchants came seeking new sources of quality grapes after phylloxera devastated their vineyards.

The name comes from the López de Heredia family and the Tondonia vineyard zone. Visitors experience a place where old winemaking practices remain central to daily work, and generations of the same family continue to shape how things operate.

The winery is open only by prior appointment and does not accept walk-in visitors. Contact ahead by phone or email to arrange a guided tour, as the property closes during harvest season.

The estate maintains a collection of documents, photographs, and tools that the family archives to preserve the winery's history for future generations. Some of the oldest wines come from the 1947 vintage and are considered rare collector's items that continue to evolve when properly stored.
