Termas de Outariz
Termas de Outariz is a public thermal bath facility in Canedo near Ourense, featuring indoor and outdoor pools built with wood and stone overlooking the river and surrounding greenery. Beyond the bathing areas, the site includes a wellness center with massages and beauty treatments, alongside a bar with outdoor seating that serves light meals and Japanese cuisine.
The thermal bath harnesses natural hot springs that have long been valued for their healing properties in this region. The facility was developed with contemporary design that merges traditional relaxation practices with modern comfort standards.
These thermal baths draw inspiration from Japanese onsen bathing culture, creating two distinct circuits for different relaxation needs. The Zen circuit features still waters for quiet contemplation, while the Celtic circuit incorporates flowing streams and bubbles to ease muscle tension.
Entry requires a small fee and is permitted for ages five and older, with parents possibly needing to verify age for children between five and eight. Parking is available on the opposite riverbank since the main lot is temporarily closed, and large groups should contact ahead to arrange their visits.
A small train called the Thermal Train connects various thermal stations across the region and stops directly at the facility. This quirky transport option gives visitors an alternative way to explore the entire thermal zone if they prefer not to drive.
