Bodegas Lozano - Rioja
Bodegas Lozano is a winery located in Leza within the Rioja Alavesa wine region, where grapes are grown and processed into wine. The building features a stepped design that echoes the nearby mountain landscape, and contains tasting rooms, barrel storage areas, bottle aging spaces, and facilities for events and gastronomy classes.
The winery was founded in 1853 when the Lozano family began planting vineyards and producing wine. Over many decades, the family maintained traditional techniques while gradually expanding their range, and today it is managed by the fourth generation, which also produces juices and grape must under the brand CONUVA.
The winery reflects the Lozano family's deep connection to winemaking, a practice rooted in the local tradition of Rioja Alavesa. Visitors experience this heritage through tastings and activities that show how the family has maintained its craft across generations.
The winery is easily accessible by car along the road between Vitoria and Logroño on the A-124 highway. Guided tours are available in Spanish and English, the site is accessible for people with mobility challenges, and pets are welcome to join their owners during visits.
Visitors can participate in grape harvesting, picking and treading grapes by hand in the traditional way. This hands-on experience connects physical work with understanding how the wine is made and develops its flavors.
